Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Sona Chiropractic, we offer gentle, nervous-system-informed chiropractic care for people of all ages.

    Our services include:

    • Chiropractic care focused on the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system

    • Family chiropractic care

    • Paediatric chiropractic care

    • Pregnancy and postpartum chiropractic care

    • Care that supports how stress and tension are held in the body

All care is delivered within the scope of chiropractic practice and in line with General Chiropractic Council guidance. Our focus is on supporting how your body functions, adapts, and recovers — rather than promising quick fixes or cures.

  • Chiropractic care may be suitable for you if you are experiencing pain, tension, stiffness, or reduced movement, or if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or unable to relax.

Many people come to Sona Chiropractic seeking support with:

    • Back or neck pain

    • Joint discomfort

    • Headaches

    • Muscle tension or generalised aches

    • The physical effects of stress

Care always begins with a thorough conversation and assessment, allowing us to understand whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you. If we feel another form of care would be more suitable, we will discuss this openly with you.

  • We offer gentle chiropractic care from toddler age upwards - always tailored to their age, stage of development, and individual needs. We are currently undertaking further advanced training before providing care to babies.

Paediatric chiropractic care at Sona is very different from adult care. Techniques are soft, specific, and respectful, and are always delivered with parental involvement and consent.

Families often choose chiropractic care to support comfort, movement, and ease during periods of growth and change.

  • Sona Chiropractic is based at 23 Reform Street, Kirriemuir, Angus.

Our clinic is easily accessible for individuals and families living in Kirriemuir and the surrounding Angus and Perthshire area.

  • There is public parking right next door at Reform Street car park - this is usually free for up to 4 hours but please double check this when you park! Otherwise there is also limited on-street public parking along Reform Street.

  • Chiropractic care at Sona is designed to be gentle and comfortable.

While everyone’s experience is different, most people find care feels relieving rather than painful. We work within your comfort at all times, and nothing is done without your consent.

It’s also normal to experience mild soreness or changes in how your body feels as it adapts, particularly in the early stages of care. We’ll always talk you through what to expect and answer any questions you may have.

  • We believe in being open and transparent about fees, so you know what to expect from the start.

    • Initial consultation: £75
This includes time to talk through what’s brought you in, take a full medical history, carry out orthopaedic and neurological testing, posture screening, and — if appropriate — your first chiropractic adjustment.

    • Ongoing chiropractic appointments (pay as you go): £45 per adjustment

    • Adjustment packages:
You may also choose to purchase a package of 12 adjustments for £450, which can be used as part of a recommended plan of care.

Any recommendations around frequency of care are discussed openly and collaboratively. There is no obligation to commit to a package, however we do recommend that you stick to your plan of care. Clients that follow their recommended plan of care see longer lasting, more consistent results.

If you have any questions about fees or would like to talk through options before booking, please feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

  • Some chiropractic techniques can produce a popping or clicking sound. This sound is caused by a change in pressure within the joint — similar to the sound made when cracking a knuckle.

The sound itself is not harmful and is not a requirement for an adjustment to be effective. Many gentle techniques involve little or no sound at all. We’ll always explain what we’re doing and choose techniques that feel right for you.

  • If there’s anything you’re unsure about or would like to discuss before booking, you’re very welcome to get in touch. We’re here to help you feel informed, supported, and at ease.
