Our Massage Treatments
At Sona Chiropractic in Kirriemuir, we offer six specialist massage and bodywork treatments, each tailored to your individual goals, whether that's post-sport recovery, relief from chronic tension, or simply deep relaxation. Our massage therapists work within the same nervous-system-informed, person-centred philosophy as the rest of the Sona team.
-
Targeted soft tissue therapy for athletes, gym-goers, and active individuals. Reduces muscle soreness, improves range of motion, and supports injury prevention and recovery.
-
Specialist treatment targeting the fascial connective tissue system to release restrictions, reduce scar tissue, and improve mobility. Particularly effective for repetitive strain and chronic tightness.
-
Deeper, slower strokes applied to specific problem areas to break down adhesions, ease chronic muscle tension, and restore movement. Effective for persistent pain or postural issues.
-
A classic, flowing full-body massage using long strokes, kneading, and circular movements to reduce tension, improve circulation, and promote deep relaxation. Ideal for first-timers or those seeking stress relief.
-
An ancient technique using suction cups to lift the fascia and underlying tissue, improving blood flow, easing muscle tightness, and supporting the body's natural healing processes.
-
Warmed basalt stones are used alongside traditional massage techniques to allow deeper muscle softening with less pressure. A deeply restorative treatment for chronic tension or stiffness.
How to Choose the Right Massage
Not sure which treatment is right for you? Here's a simple guide to help you self-select:
• If you're recovering from sport, training, or physical strain → Sports Massage
• If you have chronic muscle pain, knots, or postural tension → Deep Tissue Massage
• If you want deep relaxation, stress relief, or better sleep → Swedish or Hot Stone Massage
• If you have poor circulation or persistent muscular tightness → Cupping Therapy
• If you have scar tissue, restricted movement, or fascial adhesions → Fascial Therapy & Scraping
Still unsure? Our therapists are happy to advise when you call or book. We can also recommend a combination approach if your needs cross more than one modality.

Drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day, and allow yourself time to rest if possible. Mild muscle soreness after deeper treatments is normal and usually settles within 24–48 hours.

Absolutely, in fact, combining chiropractic care with massage therapy is one of the most effective ways to address both the neurological and soft tissue components of pain and tension. Our practitioners collaborate where appropriate to support your overall wellbeing.
